Reporting to the Tax Director, the Tax Advisor will be responsible for supporting the finance and accounting departments as well as the business units and will participate in the analysis and control of tax risks related to international activities to ensure compliance. Company to tax laws.

  • Hold a Chartered Accountant Designation (CPA, CA)
  • In-Depth Tax Courses/ICCA or Master’s Degree in Taxation
  • A minimum of 4 to 7 years of experience acquired in an accounting firm or a company, including at least 3 years of relevant experience in taxation
  • Experience in preparing tax provisions
  • Experience in compliance and US tax planning (an asset)
  • Knowledge of American indirect taxes (an asset)
  • Experience in cross-border taxation, transfer pricing, or international tax compliance (an asset)
  • Excellent oral and written fluency in French and English

Brief Description

The candidate will evolve in the context of a sustained growing company, thanks to the excellence of their client services.

Reporting to the Tax Director, the Tax Advisor will be responsible for supporting the finance and accounting departments as well as business units and participate in the analysis and control of tax risks related to international activities to ensure the Company’s compliance with tax laws. In addition, the holder will be directly involved in the evolution of the business model of the company, and its underlying legal structure related to restructuring or growth projects and the US taxation of the company.

The holder will also be allowed to collaborate with the best accounting firms.


Main Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Act as an advisor in collaboration with the International Tax Manager, modify or implement legal or tax structures to meet the business needs of the Company through innovative solutions while guaranteeing the tax integrity of the Company
  • Participate in other special projects (ie mergers, acquisitions, income tax audits, cross-border transactions)
  • Carry out Canadian/American tax compliance work
  • Prepare federal and state tax returns and provisions
  • Participate in the implementation of Tax processes
  • Ensure tax compliance in a cross-border context
  • Participate in transfer pricing documentation
  • Address the issues of indirect taxes
  • Participate in the assessment and communication of Canadian tax issues related to foreign operations
  • Monitor international legislative changes in taxation; assess and communicate their impacts
  • Participate in the tax aspect of treasury operations, including inter-company financing, external financing, and strategies for repatriation of funds to the parent company.
  • Collaborate with the financial teams for declarations
  • Support the implementation of US tax software and use for reporting purposes

 

Required Qualifications


Training

  • Hold a Chartered Accountant Designation (CPA, CA)

Professional Experience

  • Have a minimum of 4 to 7 years of experience acquired in an accounting firm or a company, including at least 3 years of relevant experience in taxation
