Our client, Five Solios Inc., is looking for a Managing Director to join their Montreal team.

Reporting directly to the Directeur – Division Fives Aluminium, the Managing Director will be responsible for business plans, budget management, the leadership of the entrepreneurial organization, the pursuit of strategic and sales plans, as well as the maintenance of a positive and constant developing work environment under his governance, among other things.

  • Engineering graduate

Brief Description

Reporting directly to the Directeur – Division Fives Aluminium, the Managing Director will be responsible for business plans, budget management, the leadership of the entrepreneurial organization, the pursuit of strategic and sales plans, as well as the maintenance of a positive and constant developing work environment under his governance, among other things.

 

Key Role and Responsibilities

  • Prepare and implement comprehensive business plans to achieve short and long-term goals
  • Prepare and execute the annual budgets of the company assuming full responsibility for the P&L and maximizing cost efficiency and profitability
  • Provide leadership to an entrepreneurial organization, developing the organization in concert with its business needs
  • Contribute to, adapt, and continue the implementation of the strategic plans of the organization for the company’s markets (air pollution control solutions in lime, cement, and primary aluminum sectors)
  • Lead the sales strategies of the company, and at times, be personally involved in the sales process of select major projects
  • Manage ongoing risks, particularly in the front end of opportunities in alignment with the company’s processes
  • Maintaining a positive and trust-based work environment with business partners, shareholders, and authorities.
  • Building up the company: recruit and mentor new talents; systematically develop and promote the potential of employees
  • Establish company policies and legal guidelines and ensure governance including compliance with Fives group Directives and Guidelines
  • Ensure the appropriate reporting is made to the Fives Group headquarters in France
  • Supervise the work of executives providing guidance and motivation to drive performance
  • Ensure a positive work environment
  • Continue to develop and encourage a strong corporate culture

 

Required Qualifications

Training

  • Engineering graduate
  • Additional management qualification (Important asset)

Professional Experience

  • A minimum of 20 years of experience
  • Experience in an international company and an SME context
  • Experience in managing a subsidiary/business unit and comfortable with operating in a matrix organization
  • Experience in industrial project management
  • Experience and inclination toward the commercial aspect
  • A previous experience linked to air pollution control industries (an asset)

Competencies

  • Knowledge of capital projects or services linked in primary heavy industries.
  • Capable to define and implement a profitable growth strategy in close cooperation with the central and local team
  • In-depth knowledge of market changes and forces that influence the company
  • Familiarity with corporate law and management best practices
  • Knowledge of good P&L management practices
  • Competence in human resources management, mentoring, and succession planning
