Reporting to the CFO, the Finance Director directs and oversees the accounting team for his division. The Finance Director owns the monthly accounting closing process, financial reporting, and analysis to support company business decision-making processes, and acts as the financial liaison to the regional CFO, FP&A, and Global Finance.

  • Recognized CPA designation.
  • A Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in the service sector.
  • Experience working with multiple locations and international operations.
  • Experience with managing a full-cycle accounting team.
  • Knowledge of IFRS.
  • Ability to work with systems (ERP) and advanced knowledge of Excel.

Brief Description

Reporting to the CFO, the Finance Director directs and oversees the accounting team for his division. The Finance Director owns the monthly accounting closing process, financial reporting, and analysis to support company business decision-making processes, and acts as the financial liaison to the regional CFO, FP&A, and Global Finance.

The Finance Director further oversees the development and implementation of harmonized financial processes and tools according to given action plans, while developing and growing required skills within the Accounting Team.

 

Main Responsibilities

  • In charge of producing the monthly consolidated and year-end financial statements for the division in multiple currencies, including regional consolidation.
  • Lead the preparation of periodic financial and management reports including the month-over-month, over-forecast and over-budget analysis, balance sheet documentation as well as ad hoc analysis.
  • Responsible for financial reporting procedures to ensure accurate and quality information for strategic and operational decisions.
  • Plan, organize, and review the activities for the accounting team, including customer invoicing, accounts receivables, accounts payables, credit and collections, assets, commissions, cash management, and DSO/DPO.
  • Lead the year-end audit process for the region, ensuring financial statements are under generally accepted accounting standards and practices.
  • Drive common and harmonized processes and tools across the region based on best practices/strategies.
  • Collaborate and align with FP&A and Global Finance to provide consultative support to planning initiatives through financial and management information analysis, reports, and recommendations.
  • Participate and oversee the elaboration and implementation of policies and procedures and ensure all internal controls and procedures are in place and effective.
  • Supervise a team in Toronto and work closely with the remaining North American and Corporate accounting teams.
  • Participate in other special projects as required by the company’s growth.

 

Qualifications

Training

  • Recognized CPA designation.

Professional Experience

  • A Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in the service sector.
  • Experience working with multiple locations and international operations.
  • Experience with managing a full-cycle accounting team.

Key qualification

  • Knowledge of IFRS.
  • Ability to work with systems (ERP) and advanced knowledge of Excel.
