Brief Description

Reporting directly to the Vice President Finance, the Finance Director manages all aspects of the company’s accounting and finance.  In addition, they will manage, develop, and oversee financial accounting processes and management reporting to support strategic and operational decision-making. This manager plays a unique and influential role in supporting the company’s growth and ensuring its success, not only by contributing to its sound financial management but also by getting involved in various strategic projects, including the deployment of a new ERP.

 

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Supervise and ensure the professional development of their team, acting as a change agent and fostering innovation, openness, and collaboration.
  • Manage the company’s entire accounting cycle, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and best practices.
  • Efficiently supervise the monthly and annual closing processes and ensure the timely production of reliable financial statements in collaboration with their team.
  • Manage and mobilize the cost accounting, inventory accounting, and revenue recognition team with their analysis.
  • Ensures revenue accounting and recognition in line with the best governance practices, as well as the associated analytical review.
  • Identify accounting and financial issues and suggest timely solutions.
  • Develop and adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Oversees budgeting, cash flow, and year-end forecasting processes.
  • Manage and comply with Canadian and foreign local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Ensures the preparation of regulatory reports and maintains effective communication with the various statutory bodies.
  • Manage foreign exchange currency transactions and coverage strategies.
  • Supervises payroll and participates in the migration to a new system.

 

Required Qualifications

Training

  • Hold a recognized accounting title (CPA)

Professional Experience

  • 10 to 15 years experience in accounting, including a minimum of 5 years in a management role
  • Experience in the manufacturing sector
  • Participation in the deployment of an ERP system
  • Experience in an SME

Competency

  • Mastery of the complete accounting cycle
  • Excellent knowledge of project accounting and cost control
  • Good knowledge of accounting standards (NCEF)
  • Excellent command of ERP systems
  • Good knowledge of consolidation of foreign entities (multi-currency)
  • Bilingualism
