CEO – CANADA

Our Client, E’NERGYS, is looking for a CEO capable of embodying E’NERGYS vision in Canada and developing it on a long-term basis.

As a part of E’NERGYS’s international development strategy and medium-term plan, the selected candidate will be responsible for successfully implementing and deploying E’NERGYS CANADA. Quebec will be the starting point for this two-phase project aiming at covering North America in medium-term.

  • University degree in engineering or other relevant degree
  • Master’s in business administration (MBA) or equivalent
  • A minimum of 10-15 years experience in a senior management position
  • Experience in the North American market and collaborating with international partners
  • Excellent knowledge/expertise of technical/technological elements related to energy efficiency
  • Knowledge and networks related to energy / environmental
  • Strong business development, customer management, and negotiation skills
  • Strong entrepreneurial or intrapreneurial experience
  • Mastery of financial and business management aspects
  • Ability to interact with government institutions and other partners
  • Oral and written bilingualism (French and English)

Description

As a part of E’NERGYS’s international development strategy and medium-term plan, the selected candidate will be responsible for successfully implementing and deploying E’NERGYS CANADA. Quebec will be the starting point for this two-phase project aiming at covering North America in medium-term.

We are seeking someone with real entrepreneurial DNA, who is stimulated by the challenges of growth and is a true builder. The ideal candidate will bring to E’NERGYS CANADA a dual focus: strategic thinking and a results-driven approach.

Your key asset: a solid background in the energy performance or building sector, with technical, technological, equipment, or similar expertise.

In this role, you will be able to use your high-level managerial and professional skills to manage all aspects of E’NERGYS CANADA’s establishment and development.

 

Main responsibilities

  • Manage the company under the guidelines laid down by the Board of Directors and achieve the objectives set.
  • Be a full member of E’NERGYS’s Executive Committee and take part in strategic discussions to support the company’s local and international development.
  • Develop and manage strategic partnerships in line with the Group policy.
  • Ensure organic and acquisition-led growth.
  • Manage all the subsidiary’s activities, setting concrete development objectives in partnership with the Board of Directors.
  • Ensure the leadership needed to operate an entrepreneurial organization, including building the strategy to develop the commercial operations
  • Manage the legal, financial, and human aspects of the subsidiary, and report on key elements in line with the Group’s practices and policy.
  • Ensure the company’s growth: recruit and manage new talent and systematically develop and promote employee potential.
  • Direct and implement the company’s sales strategies and be involved in the sales process of certain major projects, as required.
  • Adapt and create a business model offer (based on existing E’NERGYS offers) that will be adapted to the market and allocate the proper human and financial resources required.
  • Develop a positive working environment based on trust with the stakeholders: teams, customers, partners, shareholders, and authorities.
  • Represent the company through involvement in key ecosystem events.

 

Required Qualifications

Education

  • University degree in engineering or other relevant degree
  • Master’s in business administration (MBA) or equivalent
  • Dual degree relevant for the role (an asset)

Professional Experience

  • A minimum of 10-15 years experience in a senior management position
  • Experience in the energy / environmental field (an important asset)
  • Experience in the North American market and collaborating with international partners
  • Successful experience in leading business development projects

  • Strong entrepreneurial or intrapreneurial experience
  • Ability to manage an organization in VUCA mode (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, Ambiguity)

Among the Challenges of the Position

To support this project, E’NERGYS is looking for a CEO capable of embodying E’NERGYS vision in Canada and developing it on a long-term basis.

  • We’re looking for a dynamic, internationally-minded leader to take charge of E’NERGYS CANADA.
  • Quebec will be our base for medium-term coverage of North America.
  • Our entire management team in France will be at your side to ensure the success of this project.
  • Two essential elements for your success in the first few months will be: The rapid understanding of our DNA and the proposed acculturation, including a period of integration with our different entities.
  • A key component of this challenge is that you will be partnering with E’NERGYS CANADA to lead a partnership that is in the process of being integrated (acquisition of a minority stake, then a majority stake in 3 years) with a leading local player in the energy efficiency building sector.
  • The quality of your relationship with the management of this entity, and the trust you will be able to establish, will be decisive.
