Our Client, AMD Medicom, is looking for a Controller Manufacturing to join their team.

Reporting to the Director of Financial Reporting, the Controller Manufacturing has overall responsibility for providing fair and accurate financial representation of the Stinson manufacturing site. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, variance analysis, performance analysis, standard costing, inventory valuation, coordination of data collection to support local financial systems, and additional necessary analysis and reporting required by management.

  • Recognized accounting designation (CPA)
  • 10 years of relevant experience, including cost accounting
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to lead the finance department in a manufacturing environment and rally different departments around financial objectives
  • Bilingual (English and French)

Brief Summary

Reporting to the Director of Financial Reporting, the Controller Manufacturing has overall responsibility for providing fair and accurate financial representation of the Stinson manufacturing site. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, variance analysis, performance analysis, standard costing, inventory valuation, coordination of data collection to support local financial systems, and additional necessary analysis and reporting required by management.

The Controller will plan, direct, and coordinate all operational functions related to site accounting. They must be a true agent of change. They must have the relevant experience to manage this function professionally. The Controller will have expertise in costing, standard costs, and the manufacturing process in general, and must be able to explain the past, model the future, and propose solutions for improving manufacturing processes.

 

Main Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the management team and participate in the plant’s decision-making processes impacting the company’s strategy, performance, and growth.
  • Prepare Financial Statements and various reports related to plant operations to support decision-making.
  • Review and improve existing management reports, and implement new ones to provide rigorous and effective reporting.
  • Prepare income statements and balance sheets.
  • Maintain and ensure the management of internal financial controls, including payroll and cost accounting, treasury, and all other assets and liabilities.
  • Maintain and ensure the accuracy of the costing system and inventory controls.
  • Prepare annual operating and capital (fixed assets) budgets.
  • Ensure compliance with company financial policies, government regulations, and tax regulations.
  • Administer the preparation and timely filing of all accounting and financial reports for government and regulatory agencies, and the preparation of reports for third-party publications.
  • Oversee audits by the company’s independent accountants and coordinate responses to audits.
  • Ensure completion of financial analysis required for capital expenditure requirements.

 

Required Qualifications

Training

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • Recognized accounting designation (CPA)

Professional Experience

  • 10 years of relevant experience, including cost accounting
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment

Competencies

  • Ability to lead the finance department in a manufacturing environment and rally different departments around financial objectives
  • Proficiency in cost control, variance analysis, and financial reporting
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Bilingual (English and French)
