Our client, Syntax, a leading managed cloud provider, is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to join their dynamic team in Montreal.

Reporting to the Regional Controller, the Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for the month-end costing process and variance analysis. This analytical role will also require the incumbent to build and maintain month-end reporting and procedures in accordance with best practices.

  • Recognized accounting designation (CPA)
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience
  • Experience in a multi-site environment and international operations
  • Excellent knowledge of IFRS standards
  • Knowledge of the full accounting cycle
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
  • Bilingualism (an asset)

Brief Description

Reporting to the Regional Controller, the Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for, among other things, the month-end costing process and variance analysis. This analytical role will also require the incumbent to build and maintain month-end reporting and procedures per best practices.

 

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Participate in the daily accounting and full accounting cycle
  • Produce monthly reports and year-end financial statements for multiple legal entities with different currencies, including regional consolidation.
  • Prepare high-quality periodic financial reports and monthly analyses, balance sheet documentation/reconciliation, and ad hoc analyses
  • Participate in the year-end audit process for the region, ensuring that financial statements comply with generally accepted accounting standards and practices.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures and ensure that all internal controls and procedures are in place and effective.
  • Collaborate and align with FP&A and Global Finance to provide advisory support to planning initiatives through financial analysis and management information and provide recommendations.
  • Participate in other special projects as required

Required Qualifications

Training

  • Hold a recognized accounting designation (CPA)

Professional Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience
  • Experience working in a multi-site environment and international operations

Key Competencies

  • Excellent knowledge of IFRS standards
  • Knowledge of the full accounting cycle
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
  • Bilingualism (an asset)
