Our client, Inversago Pharma, is looking for a Finance Director – Full-time position, 12-month contract (renewable)
Reporting to and working with the Vice President Finance & Administration and the CFO, the Finance Director will be called upon to support the company’s growth. This person will actively participate in the day-to-day financial, accounting and administrative activities, while ensuring that best practices are applied.
- Hold a recognized accounting title (CPA), be a CPA candidate, or have experience in a biotechnology sector (R&D).
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant accounting experience
- Mastery of the complete accounting cycle
- Good knowledge of the payroll cycle
- Bilingual

Brief Description
Reporting to and working with the Vice President Finance & Administration and the CFO, the Finance Director will be called upon to support the company’s growth. This person will actively participate in the day-to-day financial, accounting and administrative activities, while ensuring that best practices are applied.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
- Carry out the entire accounting cycle in compliance with established procedures and controls
- Carry out journal entries and account analyses
- Prepare and present the company’s monthly and quarterly financial statements to the management team
- Actively manage the company’s tax planning and R&D processes with a view to innovation and continuous improvement.
- Produce sales tax reports (federal and provincial)
- Manage invoicing, bank reconciliation, employee expense reports, and payables
- Support VP Finance on various liaison files with governments, banks, accounting firms, and other professionals
- Manage and reconcile employee payroll (U.S. and Canada), liaise with government authorities, produce required documentation, and produce annual tax reports including CNESST and required slips
- Manage the annual audit process for the Group and assist external auditors as required
- Participate in any other responsibilities and/or ad hoc projects assigned.
Required Qualifications
Training
- Hold a recognized accounting title (CPA), be a CPA candidate, or have experience in a biotechnology sector (R&D).
Professional Experience
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant accounting experience
- Professional experience in an accounting firm (an asset)
Skills
- Mastery of the complete accounting cycle
- Good knowledge of the payroll cycle
- Knowledge of IFRS (an asset)
- Knowledge of Sage50 (an asset)
- Bilingualism
