Our client, a recognized and innovative service company located in downtown Montreal is looking for a Financial Controller for the Central Region who will join their team of creative and committed professionals.
Reporting to the Senior Director, the Controller will be responsible for assuring the integrity, correctness, and the reality of the Central Region’s financial operations and coordinating the production of multiple deliverables. Furthermore, the holder will have the opportunity to be directly implicated in the systems optimization and process improvements.
- Hold a Chartered Professional Accountant designation (CPA)
- Possess a minimum of 5 to 7 years of relevant experience acquired within an accounting firm or 5 years within an accounting firm and 2 years in insurance services or an area related to financial services.
- Possess skills and relevant experience to prepare adequate financial information for the upper management
- Strong knowledge of accounting and financial reporting and internal control environment
- Capable of effectively explaining and articulating strategic, financial, and business fundamentals to a variety of people, with varying degrees of financial and business knowledge
- Perfectly bilingual both orally and in writing

Brief Description
The position holder will be in a context of a company with sustained growth, thanks to their excellent client services. Reporting to the Senior Director, the Controller will be responsible for assuring the integrity, correctness, and the reality of the Central Region’s financial operations and coordinating the production of multiple deliverables. Furthermore, the holder will have the opportunity to be directly implicated in the systems optimization and process improvements.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
- Prepare and issue monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the Central Region
- Prepare an analytical review of the monthly and quarterly results of the region.
- Work with regional offices to ensure the financial information is transmitted to the regional management and head office in a timely and consistent manner.
- Prepare the region’s annual budgets.
- Participate in the development of group-wide financial and operational policies, procedures, and controls.
- Manage the implementation and ongoing compliance with financial and operational policies, procedures, and controls at the group level.
- Participate in the optimization of national processes and the implementation of changes relating to the accounting system.
- Establish solid and transparent relationships with the management of the Central Region and the head office in Montreal.
- Identify the present or future risks in the activities of the region.
- Work in collaboration with other regional controllers to share best practices and ensure consistency within the organization.
- Ensure post-transaction work in the case of acquired companies to ensure smooth operational and financial integration.
- Travel 3-4 times per year to the Toronto office or elsewhere in the Central Region.
- Provide support to the Senior Director on the preparation of financial information for the Eastern Region.
Qualifications Required
Training

Professional Experience
