The strategic role:  Claims Director

Reporting to the Division Director, he is responsible for all of the Complaints team’s activities, including the definition of strategic planning, supervision of activities related to technical and contractual analyzes, budget and results management. financial, all in collaboration with the members of the Steering Committee.

As part of this key strategic role, the Complaints Director will be called upon to:

  • Manage the claims team, including Design / Construction and Insurance Defects
  • Prepare and prioritize claims and develop strategic approaches in collaboration with the legal team and independent experts to minimize costs and facilitate resolution.
  • Work collaboratively with operations to identify potential claims to be made to provide our contractual services.
  • Analyze potential claims from a technical and financial point of view and determine the appropriate strategy.
  • Control the invoicing of costs related to complaints from various departments.
  • Conduct discussions with builders and with the management entity
  • Coordinate the complaints process and be involved in negotiation/arbitration / litigation meetings.
  • Respect our budgetary commitment.
  • Perform other related tasks as required.

 

Qualifications
  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in finance, Engineering, Law or other relevant diplomas
  • 10-15 years of experience in complaints management, contract management or financial control
  • Experience in the construction industry
  • Experience in the hospital environment (an asset)
  • Bilingualism (spoken and written)
Knowledge required
  • Computer skills – Excellent command of the Microsoft suite and the Google suite
