Our client, Ortec Environment Services, is looking for a Business Location Manager to join their dynamic team located at Contrecoeur.
The incumbent manages the business center under the policy defined by senior management, in agreement with the Regional Director and in liaison with the various departments (HR, Finance, Technical, Health, and Safety).
- University degree or other diploma (DEC or AEC) in a relevant field (construction, mechanics, civil engineering, environmental engineering, etc.)
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in profit center management, ideally in a technical or professional services sector
- Management experience in a unionized work environment
- Knowledge of heavy industry and industrial cleaning
- Proven skills in business development, multidisciplinary team management, and operations coordination
- Good knowledge of environmental issues, applicable regulations, and industrial customer requirements
- Proficiency in computer tools such as Microsoft Office

Description
The Business Center Manager manages the business center under the policy defined by senior management, in agreement with the Regional Director and in liaison with the various departments (HR, Finance, Technical, Health, and Safety). More specifically, he:
- Responsible for the smooth running of the business center under his responsibility (commercial, social, administrative, financial, organizational, and operational aspects) under the powers and signature delegation thresholds assigned to him.
- Reports regularly on the results achieved to the Regional Director and alerts them in the event of any difficulties.
- Ensures compliance with legislation in the context of the agency’s activities, as well as its Health, Safety, and Environment system and contractual commitments with its clients.
Main responsibilities
Operations, Administration & Management
- Coordinates the business center’s activities and ensures that all the agency’s work is carried out properly
- Ensures that the necessary human and material resources are available for the proper execution of projects
- Defines and manages the equipment pool (investment requests, inventory, repairs, scrap) in agreement with the Regional Director or Regional Manager and in collaboration with the Technical Department
- Ensures the monitoring and good condition of the equipment used by staff
- Supervises and coordinates the various administrative resources
- Organizes and controls the agency’s budget monitoring
- Monitors and validates invoicing
- Manages all financial disputes relating to his place of business
- Signs or is authorized to sign annual or specific prevention plans
Personnel management
- Leads and manages all business location staff
- Manages the human resources aspects of the business location
- Ensures that mandatory notices and registers are kept up to date
- Ensures that individual objectives are met by employees
- Conducts and/or participates in the annual evaluation of employees and proposes necessary training
- Recruits and/or approves business location staff
Sales, purchasing & subcontracting
- Leads and manages the commercial development of their place of business
- Organizes and monitors calls for tenders and bids, ensuring that contractual commitments are met
- Validates the commercial and technical elements of estimates/bids
- Negotiates commercial aspects with customers
- Considers head office recommendations on authorized credit limits based on customer risk
- Validates purchase and subcontracting orders within the limits of the amounts defined in the scope of his signing authority
- Ensures that subcontractors are in good standing regarding social security and tax obligations (mandatory documents, etc.) before work begins
- Ensures the solvency of subcontractors/suppliers in liaison with head office departments
- Actively contributes to customer satisfaction
Occupational health and safety (OHS) Security
- Enforces the business location’s OHS policy and objectives, in line with those of senior management, providing the necessary resources to achieve them and ensuring that these objectives are monitored and met
- Takes the necessary measures to help minimize risks to safety and the environment
- Collaborates with customer safety departments and representatives of official bodies (trade unions)
- Ensures compliance with regulations and customer/group requirements and the proper application of the HSE system within the business location
- Commits to the HSE system by participating in safety breaks, accident or near-accident analyses, and conducting field audits
- Proposes and implements improvement and corrective actions, and ensures their follow-up
Qualifications required
Education
